Business Investment Tax Credit (ITC)

The federal Business Energy Investment Tax Credit (ITC), a program administered by the Internal Revenue Service, allows commercial customers to recover a percentage of the system cost through tax credits. The table to the left shows the value of the investment tax credit for solar related technologies by year. The expiration date is based on when construction begins.

California SGIP Program

The CPUC’s Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) provides incentives to support existing, new, and emerging distributed energy resources. SGIP provides rebates for qualifying distributed energy systems installed on the customer’s side of the utility meter. SCS Energy Solutions uses this program to significantly reduce ESS costs in California.

LADWP LED Rebate Program

LADWP’s Commercial Lighting Incentive Program (CLIP) provides incentives on the installation of newly purchased and installed energy-saving lighting and controls. SCS Energy Solutions participates in this program to provide reduced cost and in some instances free LED upgrades to applicable locations in LADWP’s territory. As a LADWP Trade Ally, SCS Energy Solutions receives the rebate directly from LADWP and, if necessary, deducts it from the contract price, which means it never hits the clients books.
